Yoyo For A Year
Got another ding!

Crap! Not even sure how I did. I just put it together after resiliconing it. I knocked the pieces together a little but not hard.

Still need to do the review.

I know I said I was going to put up a review last week, but I’ve been busy. I’ve had school, training at work, birthday parties to attend, and a few other obligations.

My buddy, Adam at work has helped me get a few things down and taught me a few really cool repeaters. I’ll have to have him help me record some stuff since my HD video camera is not coming back to life.

Well I knew it was coming since I noticed something wrong with the silicone when I took it apart the first time. I’ll put up a review for sure today since I’ve had a few weeks to throw it.

Out the first dent in the Sky Walker tonight. I was trying to do a Banana Turnover and it hit the plastic on my desk chair. Can’t really complain since its not that bad and a tiny one on the rim.

Also I’ve been hitting Red Clover with probably close to 75% accuracy. And What is almost hitting all the time. Last buy not least my own combo adapted from other tricks called “The Legend of Link” is coming along pretty well.

Still need to make a review for the throw and need to figure out what I’m going to use to make a video or two since my HD camera is dead.

Getting things a little more started.

I started this blog with the idea of partnering with a company for a year to try out one of the newest yoyos on the market and only that yoyo for a year. That didn’t work so well. I then realized it’s hard to really trust someone these days without proof something is going to happen. So I decided to go with Vs Newton, I sure am happy I bought one of these off of YoYoExpert. I don’t want to be sponsored, mostly because I am just not that good. Let’s see if that changes over the next year.

While writing the above paragraph I stopped multiple times throw the Sky Walker and eat. A longer review will come most likely tomorrow. All i can say is I love this thing, its quick, and very stable. What I’m not really thrilled about is the string. We’ll get to that tomorrow though.

Harold Owens won Nationals and all he’s getting from me is this lousy combo

Here it is. I’ll be playing this yoyo 95% of the time this year. I’ll put up a review tomorrow and more details of my plans.

Well still working on trying to find a company to partner with for the project. Right now I’m focusing on my final project for this semester then I’ll see what is going to happen.

I’m going to be using string from www.yoyostringlab.com for the first month once I get the yoyo. The first few tricks I’ll be learning once I get it will probably be Ladder Escape, Triple Tower, and Superman.

In the mean time check out this song.

I need your help to find a yoyo for these to go along with. Also in the future I would also like to try out new string, response, and bearings.

Introduction

With this blog I’d like to try something that most normal players don’t really do these days. I’d like to use one yoyo as my main throw for an entire year. By main throw I mean I want it to be the yoyo I use 95% of the time, take with me everywhere, and be unafraid to do things with it that most don’t want to do with at $100 performance yoyo. I’ve used a Yoyofactory Genesis as my main throw for about 2 years now. I also tend to play my CLYW Sasquatch a lot, but every time it gets a little scuff or scratch I feel sick inside. I have a few other high end ones too, but those are more for special occasions or when I’ve fully mastered a trick. Also some are just for collecting. So what I really want to do here is showcase a newer generation yoyo, preferably from a new company. I want to experience the smoothness of the new cutting edge yoyos such as the Sky Walker, Flying Hut, Chief, Dang, Ywet, Avant Garde and some of the others that have recently flew off the shelves. These throws are some of the hottest out there and hard to find. It is also hard to sometimes trade older yoyos such as the Dark Magic, Boss, 888, and Severe to get one.

Over the next year I want catalog every scratch, ding, and dent this yoyo gets. Not mention master some of the most amazing tricks to look at and even create new ones. I hope to enter a few competitions this year and hope to use this yoyo to place high. I am by no means one of the best players out there. As this yoyo evolves in character, I too also hope to evolve as a player. I’m planning on taking a lot of pictures and putting up a video of new skills obtained every week or two. This will also help me justify a DSLR later in the year or a HD camcorder. I’m very excited for this project and am looking for a partner to help me. So if you’re a yoyo company and would like to help or know someone who wants to help post a comment on here or email me at yoyoforayear at gmail dot com.
